The human face is full of power and expression and can evoke a wide range of emotions through a photograph. The goal of a business headshot
should be to reflect your personality and professionalism in light of your companies branding and business culture. Whether in the studio or on
location, Jeff will work with each client to craft a portrait to meet these goals.
Sessions can generally be grouped into two styles... a single headshot session and a creative, or environmental, portrait session. The headshot
is a basic head/shoulders business portrait and typically the deliverable will be a single retouched image. In contrast, the portrait session
is geared toward the client who will need multiple poses, backgrounds, 3/4 and full length shots, and stylized environmental shots.
Sessions are available at the conveniently located studio at 129 S. Main St. Edinburg, or on location at your office or other predetermined
site. For larger offices, day rates are available for location sessions and discounts will apply for multiple studio sessions scheduled consecutively.
Each headshot session includes one retouched image (one per person for groups) delivered on CD or posted for download.
Portrait sessions will include (5) images. Additional image selections can also be purchased
This session is for clients who are in need of one pose. The shoot will take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour and you'll see on average
about 1 image per minute to select your new headshot from. Included in the session is a low and high resolution file on CD (or posted for download), online proofing
for image selection, basic retouching of selected image, and licensing for nearly unlimited end usage (see below).

the next day. Rush service with same day delivery is available in most cases, if necessary (may not be feasible for large group shoots on location).
How are images delivered? Images will typically be delivered on CD, but can also be made available for download
What size files will I receive? For each image selected, you'll receive one low resolution file suitable for websites/email and one high-res file for printing
Are the images retouched? Yes, the selected images will be retouched to remove stray hairs, soften skin, remove blemishes, whiten teeth, etc.
The extent of the retouching can be discussed during your session.
Is hair/makeup stylist available? Yes, a hair/makeup stylist is available for studio and location sessions.
Is B&W an option? Absolutely, I love working in B&W.
How will I choose my image(s)? Photos will be posted online in a password protected gallery after the session. Once you've selected

How do location sessions work for large groups? The studio will essentially be brought to you and set up in a conference room or other suitable
location. A representative within your company will schedule the staff at 20 minute consecutive intervals. Generally for groups, the images
will all be shot in the same 'look' so each person may not take the entire alloted time, but it's best to allow the 20 minutes to work with
the people who are uncomfortable in front a the camera. Opportunities are available to customize location sessions. For example, the upper
manangers may want some environmental portraits taken in their manufacturing facility or board room in addition to the headshots.
Do you travel? Yes, I do travel for assignments. Travel fees will be discussed and negotiated during consultation. In general, travel
fees will be applied to assignments outside the northern Shenandoah Valley.
Payments and deposits? A 50% deposit will hold your appointment and check or credit is preferred for deposits. For single studio sessions the balance is due
on the day of the shoot and may be paid in cash, check or credit. Group sessions will be invoiced with 30 day terms. For short notice studio appointments a deposit may not be necessary.
What about cancellations? A two day notice is required for refund of deposit. Cancellations are sometimes unavoidable and in cases of
last minute cancellations, your deposit will be valid for one year to reschedule the session.
These are generalized Do's/Don'ts and things to avoid. As with any art, sometimes rules need to be broken. All the details of your shoot
will be discussed prior to the session.
  • Have at least 2-3 changes of clothing with accesories for the “Portrait Session”. Options are good.
  • Tell us about the sytle of ”image” you're striving for. Bring along a copy of your current photo.
  • Men should shave or trim the day of the session. Retouching will take care of any skin imperfections.
  • Try not to get your hair cut on the day of the shoot. Images will be best a couple days afterward.
  • Arrive with your hair/makeup styled unless you'll be working with our stylist (then arrive with face moisturized).
  • Avoid white unless it’s underneath another article of clothing.
  • Do not wear stripes, herringbone, plaids, or other patterns. Solids are best for portraits.
  • Dark clothing focuses attention on the face, where it needs to be.
  • Avoid short sleeves or bare shoulders. The bare skins detracts from the face.
  • Try to avoid all black. A little bit of color adds to the personality of the images.
  • Be sure to wear clothes you are comfortable and feel you look your best in. Your confidence will show.
  • Avoid smoking, alcohol, drugs before the shoot. They're not good for the skin.
